Recent compositions of Kerry Yong explore the harmonic structures of vowels to give an exposition of a text, demonstrated in this setting of the Preces and Responses, and in Anima Christi written for the Multiplicity Ensemble. Other strands of his work are for celebratory or liturgical functions, exploiting indeterminacy and improvisation strategies to successfully combine performers from diverse training: classical, amateur and popular.

He is also a performer on piano and electronics, in ensembles Apartment House, Elision and Plus-Minus, and with solo electronic projects Cover Me Casio and Cover Me Cage. He is Director of Music of Grace Church Hackney.
