Charles West
Composer
While training initially as a classical pianist, Charles West later became interested in jazz before setting aside further public performance to pursue a career in medicine. He was able to maintain his interest in both classical and jazz composition, but in recent years his writing has shifted towards sacred and secular choral music which has been acknowledged both at home and abroad.
He is musical director to two local choirs, organist at his local church, and has found great enjoyment creating music in community theatre, working with people of all ages and talents.
