Prelude V

This is a live recording of Prelude V by Ron Hannah. It was performed at St Pancras Parish Church on Thursday 14 May 2015 by Robert Smith.

Ron Hannah is a Canadian composer of many works in most classical genres, from solo pieces to symphonic and operatic compositions. His style is somewhat conservative with judicious use of dissonances and textures to create dramatic effect. Hannah has received commissions; he has just completed a short work for oboe and string orchestra and his recent Dances for Camille, for two pianos, was be premiered in Vienna in April 2015. He divides his time between Canada and Austria.

The composition of new music for church choirs is in a vigorous, creative phase, and the LFCCM is a worthy champion of all the good work currently going on.
