Paolo Furlan
Composer
Born in Venice in 1994, Paolo Furlan began his classical piano studies at the age of 13. In 2021 he graduated with honors from the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice with the performance of the Sonata by Paul Dukas, having been a pupil of Anna Barutti and Igor Cognolato. As a pianist he has performed throughout Italy as both a soloist and an accompanist.
After a first experience in a male choir, Paolo received the award for the best jazz, swing and blues performance at the 27th International Choir Competition in Verona with the vocal group “Eravamocantanove”. Today he sings tenor in the award-winning Pordenone-based vocal ensemble “Viriditas”, led by Francesca Paola Geretto. The group premiered in 2022 his composition Flos Carmeli in the Salone dei Cinquecento within Palazzo Vecchio, Florence.
Paolo’s choral compositions have received recognition in international competitions, such as the call for scores promoted in 2023 by the Rocky Mountains Chamber Choir and the “Voci a Venezia” 2023 choral festival organized by the choral conducting class of the Conservatory of Venice.
Paolo is currently attending masterclasses and pursuing studies in Literature, History and Archaeology at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
