Aims of the Festival
The Festival’s principal aim is to showcase performances of recent and contemporary liturgical music and organ music at the very highest levels, in the context of both services and concerts. The Festival is a week-long event around Easter and St Pancrastide.
Our subsidiary aims are:
- To encourage and enthuse people to experience such music in live performances, rather than through recorded media;
- To add to the living musical tradition through newly commissioned works;
- To provide a platform for composers to present and to discuss their work.
